Starting point
A rented apartment was to be renovated on a small budget. Floors, kitchen, bathroom and walls showed signs of wear; for re-letting, the apartment needed a well-kept, contemporary appearance. The art lay in deciding what can be kept and restored and what is worth replacing.

What emerged
Keeping rather than replacing where the fabric is good: the parquet floor was sanded and resealed, and the kitchen was repaired rather than replaced. What was replaced is what noticeably improves daily life: the PVC flooring in the corridor and office gave way to a modern, easy-care carpet, the tap and dishwasher in the kitchen were renewed, the bathroom fittings were replaced and a heated towel rail was installed. New electrical connections were also added and the fuse protection was brought up to the current standard. The whole apartment was repainted.
Design, scheduling, cost control and site management were handled by Studio Wirz throughout.

What remains
The result is a well-kept, contemporary rental apartment, completed within the agreed time and cost frame. The apartment is ready for re-letting, with restored fabric and renewed details that make a difference in daily use.
